CCS54963: 1987 1/4 oz gold Mazu fake NGC 68 Ultra Cameo - Sale ongoing for 599.99 USD on 13 July 2013 - 00:11, July 13, 2013‎
CCS52953: 1987 1/4 oz gold Mazu fake NGC 68 Ultra Cameo - Sale ongoing for 30 USD on 29 June 2013 - 09:15, June 29, 2013‎
CC9233: 1987 1/4 oz gold Mazu fake NGC 68 Ultra Cameo - 23:13, May 20, 2012. latest update - 09:10, June 29, 2013‎
CCT4131: 1987 1/4 oz gold Mazu fake - 09:05, June 29, 2013‎

3356524-158 1987 1/4oz CHINA MAZU - 1000TH ANNIVERSARY GOLD

So I was thinking if the CONTACT NGC CUSTOMER SERVICE grade of NGC for this specimen was really the DELETED grade before that meant FAKE.

This is because CC9233 doesn't have any screenshot image of its NGC cert verification to prove that its grade got deleted because it is a fake.  CCT4131 was created 2 weeks ago, June 29, 2013, CC9233's update is also June 29, 2013, and a DELETED problem was not entered for it.  The decision that CC9233 is a fake specimen was made on that day, again, no screenshot was made to prove that its a fake because its grade was deleted by NGC nor a post here in the CC forum was made to prove that it has been discussed and agreed to that because it has a deleted grade, it is a fake specimen.  And then somewhere in the middle of June 29, 2013 and July 13, 2013 NGC decided to change their grade for fake slabs from DELETED to CONTACT NGC CUSTOMER SERVICE.  CC failed to document this sudden change of information by NGC.

I found this thread in china-mint.info forum and at the beginning, it said that NGC certification number 3356524-158 is the real one, Fake NGC slab danger.  Actually, the link to the ebay listing and the link to the NGC cert verification has the same cert number, 3356524-158.

Fake NGC slab danger, reply #6.  poconopenn posted the photo of NGC certification number 3356524-158 coin with a "Fake 1987 Mazu gold coin.jpg" file name.

Fake NGC slab danger, reply #15.  从心出发 said that the NGC grade is deleted but he did not posted any cert number so he can mean just any cert number.

Fake NGC slab danger, reply #27.  SANDAC included NGC cert number 3356524-158 as one of the 4 deleted 1987 Mazu.

Fake NGC slab danger. reply #81.  SANDAC said that NGC marks their known fake slabs with DELETED.

These china-mint.info forum replies concludes that NGC certification number 3356524-158 got a DELETED mark/grade by NGC because it is a fake slab.  They also proves that the DELETED grade that NGC certification number 3356524-158 used to have is now a CONTACT NGC CUSTOMER SERVICE, that meant fake too.

Oh and I found this cert number in this thread too, 3589198-001 1987 1/4oz CHINA MAZU - 1000TH ANNIVERSARY GOLD, its grade is NOT GENUINE.  Its fake, obviously.  And it's not yet in CC.

NOT GENUINE, DELETED, and CONTACT NGC CUSTOMER SERVICE NGC grades = FAKE.

Thanks to your detailed research that you've recorded here, it's obvious now that there is a serious problem with fakes for the Mazu coins. NGC seems to be on top of it, but it might be worthwhile to cite this discussion in the Mazu article as evidence for an important event for these coins during the 2012 to 2013 time period, where the market is being flooded with large numbers of high quality fakes that temporarily succeeded in deceiving NGC.
