I asked some friends in China's Classical Gardens QQ group for info about this coin, and I'm attaching images from the ebay listing to help them identify it.

One of the people says it's not a pattern ("specimen"). The Chinese collectors like the brass coins because they're often the rarest or most special, sometimes they were given as gifts. This coin has very nice clean surfaces. It was stored well for many years, and it will probably get a high grade.

Often when there is a brass version, there is a silver version too. I asked about that possibility, and the person I talked to said there is a 1/2 oz silver version. Maybe you can search around for the silver version to learn more about this coin. Maybe the brass version is the rarest one.

Thanks alot, than ist just a non-fiat coin. Think value is than wrong too, should be under 100$?

I have looked Long time, but from Google there is nothing about it.
Think it would be a present, because the collector have sold yesterday the 1 yuan 1985 Panda brass coin, that was a present too.

Edit by badon: medal = non-fiat coin.
